Following his clerkship, Trip began his legal career with a large Denver plaintiff firm, where he focused on representing homeowner associations in construction defect cases. Trip then spent time at a Denver insurance defense firm specializing in representing construction professionals.

He is admitted to practice in California and Colorado, but represents clients in courtrooms nationwide. Michael has obtained some of the largest plaintiff legal malpractice jury verdicts and settlements in the United States and many multi-million dollar verdicts and settlements in commercial and personal injury litigation. He is one of the few plaintiffs’ attorneys in the United States to be certified as a specialist in legal malpractice law by The State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization.
