Megan successfully argued an appeal at the Colorado Supreme Court in the Rudnicki v. Bianco case, during its second appeal, that injured patients of medical malpractice can receive prefiling, prejudgment interest when a judge finds good cause to exceed the oppressive $1 million overall cap that applies to medical malpractice claims. The Supreme Court unanimously found in the plaintiff’s favor.

At a prior firm, Megan represented over 250 plaintiffs in complex corporate negligence case involving a local hospital relating to improperly sterilized surgical instruments. The case was defended by 53 defense attorneys from 5 firms, requiring a “David versus Goliath” approach to succeed. The team’s litigation strategy case resulted in resolving the case with a record-breaking settlement.

Megan obtained a multi-million settlement for a client who suffered severe sepsis due to a hospital ignoring a patient with a perforated bowel.

As of 2025, Megan has obtained over $100 million in settlements as a lead attorney on cases for clients injured from medical malpractice, motor vehicle collisions, premise liability cases, and corporate negligence in the healthcare setting.

At a prior firm, Megan was a lead attorney on a Colorado class action case against Porter Adventist Hospital involving 3,000 injured patients that resulted in a $6.5 million settlement.

Most significantly, Megan believes that, because corporations and insurance companies are in the business of making money, obtaining civil justice for an injured individual requires dogged perseverance and she must prepare every case as if it is going to trial. She is relentless in pursuing justice for her clients because telling every client’s story is extremely important to her. Megan has focused on complex litigation throughout her career. She was one of the lead attorneys that vigorously fought on behalf of over 250 plaintiffs to obtain justice against a Colorado hospital after injured patients had suffered severe post-operative infections. The hospital was not properly sterilizing its surgical instruments resulting in blood, bone, and hair remaining on instruments arriving in the operating room.

In addition to advocating for individual clients, Megan fights for the rights of Coloradoans at the capitol building through her work with the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association (CTLA). She has been involved in leadership with CTLA since 2019, became a CTLA Officer in 2022, and will serve as the organization’s President from 2026-27. She has testified before the legislator on numerous occasions and defended ballot measures in front of Colorado’s Title Board.

Megan was listed in the 2026 Top 50 Women Lawyers in Colorado by Super Lawyers. She has been consistently recognized as a Colorado Super Lawyer or as a Colorado Super Lawyer’s Rising Star for years. She has been recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100. She is a graduate of the renowned NITA (National Institute for Trial Advocacy) intensive national trial preparation program.

She also specializes in appellate law and has argued before the Colorado Supreme Court. Megan has been an Adjunct Professor at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law since 2011 where she teaches appellate writing, oral advocacy, legal research, and international law. In addition to teaching, Megan coaches the Sturm College of Law’s prestigious Jessup International Moot Court Team that consistently earns top awards at both the regional and international levels of the competition. For several years, she served as the Managing Editor for a peer-reviewed legal journal for the Council for American Students in International Negotiations, Eyes on the International Criminal Court.

Prior to becoming a plaintiff’s attorney, she spent time focusing on international law and human rights, including work with a non-profit focused on maritime piracy. In the past, she provided consulting services on the Defense Counsel’s case for the Prospero Mugiraneza case during its appeal at the United Nations International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda. Prior to that, she worked as a consultant for the Sustainable Development Strategies Group, analyzing foreign mining and resource development laws to ensure compliance with sustainable development principles. During law school, Megan interned at the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia for the Office of the Prosecutor and assisted the trial team in convicting perpetrators of genocide. She also had the opportunity to assist the trial team at the International Criminal Court on the Thomas Lubanga Dyilo case and the Charles Taylor trial team at the Special Court for Sierra Leone.

Megan graduated from the University of Colorado with honors, majoring in French, and earned a J.D. degree from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.

In her free time, Megan enjoys skiing, reading, running half marathons, culinary adventures, traveling, and spending time with her family. Megan started skiing when she was only four years old and still loves hitting the slopes on the weekends. Megan is part-owner of a restaurant with her husband and has also been involved in the restaurant industry since a young age. She loves trying new restaurants or local craft breweries when possible. Her husband’s music industry background also has them attending as many concerts as possible each year, especially at Red Rocks Amphitheater.
